Team C.B.F. 1st Trip to the hole this winter!
 

Bull Red #1 (and only)40" long
We waited all morning without a bite. After putting fresh bait on this fish decided to take a bait.
I thought it was a Big Ugly the way it only taped the line. The pole never even bent over.

If it looks like I am cold and wet, it is because I am. I went out into the channel to fight and retrieve the fish when I slipped off the edge and into the water I went. I was not about to let the rod or fish go. I kept swimming with my elbows until Anthony helped me get my footing. The water was very cold. If you plan to fish out there solo make sure to were a life jacket.

Now for the REPORT!

After stopping at at least 5-6 different places I finally found a bait shop that had live mullet. With that and several fresh shad off we went. We even caught 4 live crabs in the rocks at the waters edge. We had the best bait I have seen in about two months. It still was very slow. Something small was clean our hooks of without noticing a bite. We even held the rods in our hands ant they still cleaned us out. We could not figure out what it was. They even took the squid we offered without a noticeable hit. I did see 1 other redfish caught but not much else. We still enjoyed getting out of the house and away from the Christmas traffic.
