2nd TRIP to Meacom's Pier in 2003

For Reference My Landalot® Landing Net is 38" across.

This is why I like going to Meacom's Pier!

 

Fish #1 (left), 44" long. Fish #2 (right) went 47". Not bad for starters.
The action was slow until I had this double. Brought the first fish to the net with ease on my larger rod. I was doing fine until the second fish (the one on the right) hit one of my smaller rods and almost took it with him!

Fish #3, 40" long
the weather was getting rough. Since I was fishing solo I had a difficult time taking good pictures.
Landing these brutes by myself in the rain and high wind was a whole challenge in it's self.
 

Fish #4, 36" long
Feisty little bugger. I thought this was a monster the way he was fighting.
 

Fish #5, 39" long.
Really nice looking fish. He had me running in circles trying to land him.
 

Fish #6, 38" long.
Last fish of the trip. this fish could not have been caught easier. Came right in then went into the net on the first try. Don't you wish all of them could be this way?

Now for the REPORT!

It was Rough out there. High winds, rain (sometime real heavy) and lightning. I still had a great time at Meacom's again.
I had 9 runs and landed 6 over size redfish that were 36" to 47" long.
Lost one fish at the net when he wrapped the weight on the net and took off for another run and had one run straight into the pilings and I could not get him off before my line broke.
Bait was very hard to catch. I had my bait rod in the water both days I was there and did not catch a thing. The water must be warming up because the Redfish are showing up again. Make sure you get some bait before you get there. It is hard to come by.
3 fish were landed on Thursday and 3 were on Friday. All fought extremely tough. It must have been the big waves helping them out.
I think I could have done better if I would have had fresh bait.
