After two great trips down south I wanted to fish for BU under an almost full moon one more time before they stop spawning. I invited several people but they all seemed to not make it for some reason. Some had to work, the wind forecast was iffy and the thought of fishing all night and then heading home was too much for them. Despite the really bad winds I still headed out after work from Houston and arrived around 8pm. I met my buddy Ricardo and my son Albert. We fished until 4am and then had enough BU on our hands. We ended up with 15 BU from 36 to 45 inches. These were some of the biggest fish we had caught this year. Two of them were really monsters. The night was steady catching all night long. Crab was the bait favored by the big fish. From here on out I think I will be targeting bull reds or sharks in the surf. Maybe even in the yak.
